Price and order

How much does a glamping dome cost?

The smallest model, SkyLodge 5 (20 m²), starts at €17,800. SkyLodge 6 (28–35 m²) starts at €25,000 and SkyLodge 8 (50–70 m²) at €44,500. The double domes of the S Sophie series run from €28,200 to €114,000. All prices are for the dome and are listed for every model on Domes and in the catalogue.

What is included in the price and what is not?

Included: the fully glazed structure with tempered and laminated glass, smart ventilation, 8 smart floor lights and power sockets. Quoted separately: the platform, installation, delivery and local taxes, as well as the bathroom fittings and the furniture.

What is the difference between Silverstone Mirror and SN Control?

They are the two glazing options and the reason each model has two prices. Silverstone Mirror is a mirrored glazing by AGC Glass Europe that reflects the landscape; it is the lower price. SN Control is Guardian SunGuard solar-control glazing in three shades: SN-51 (the brightest), SN-40/23 (balanced) and SN-29 (the strongest sun protection). On the S Sophie series the mirrored option is Stopsol. We recommend the glazing for the sun and climate of your site.

What is the difference between Classic, Avangarde and Custom?

Classic is the standard dome. Avangarde is ready for glamping: on SkyLodge 6 and 8 it adds an enclosed bathroom with a loft bedroom above it, so the dome sleeps four on two levels. Custom is designed around your purpose, such as a sauna, spa, restaurant or office.

Does the dome come with a bathroom?

SkyLodge 5 Classic has no bathroom; SkyLodge 5 Avangarde and SkyLodge 6 and 8 Classic have an open bathroom; SkyLodge 6 and 8 Avangarde have an enclosed bathroom with a loft bedroom above it. In every case the bathroom arrives unequipped, and the fittings are quoted on request.

Do you deliver turnkey?

Only in the Custom configuration, fully equipped. In Classic and Avangarde the living area, kitchen, dining, bathroom and bedroom have their place in the structure but arrive unequipped. The interior design and its separate quote are handled by our partner studio Rosco Design.

Timing and installation

How long does it take from order to a finished dome?

Production takes about two months from the deposit. Installation on site takes three to five days.

What does the site need?

The site needs to be levelled and reachable by truck. The platform, installation and delivery depend on the terrain, so we quote them separately after we know the location.

Can the dome be moved later?

Yes. The dome is modular: it can be taken apart and assembled again on a new site.

Do I need a permit?

The dome is classified as a movable structure. The rules differ from country to country, and we confirm which ones apply to your site. More in the article on permits.

Seasons and glazing

Can the dome be used in winter?

Yes, the structure is built for year-round use. The standard glazing is a 28 mm unit with Ug 1.0 W/m²K, the level of modern residential windows. On a sunny day the dome warms itself and the heating can stay off. At night it needs more heating power than an ordinary room of the same size, and we size it for your climate before the order.

Does it get too hot in summer?

The solar-control glazing stops most of the sun’s heat, and the smart ventilation at the top removes exactly the warm air that rises there. The fan is controlled from an app and closes tightly, so there is no draught.

Is triple glazing available?

Yes, as an option for every model and every glazing: Ug down to 0.5 W/m²K, glazing at passive-house level. Price on request. More in the article on triple glazing.

What about snow and wind?

The structure is designed for year-round use. Snow and wind loads are confirmed for your specific site at the engineering stage.

Construction and warranty

What is the dome made of?

The frame is the GUTMANN GCW 050/060 aluminium facade system with a thermal break. The glazing is a 28 mm unit (6·16·3.3.1, argon filled) with tempered outer and laminated inner glass. The powder coating is Qualicoat, in 25 standard RAL colours or a RAL colour of your choice. Details in the article on materials.

What warranty do you give?

Five years on the structure and the glazing, two years on the electrical components. The designed service life is 50+ years.
